Great Beginnings is a one-day academic orientation for all incoming first-year students filled with community-building activities and centered around your core Fisher 101 session.  During your Fisher 101 session, you will receive your iPad from the iFisher Initiative. There are concurrent parent/guardian sessions offered throughout the day.  

    Choose a date from the calendar to register for your core Fisher 101 session.  You'll have the opportunity to select additional events within the registration form. 

    Here is an overview of the other events that may be a part of your day:

    Service Scholars and First Generation Scholars Orientation- Prior to the Fisher 101 session, you will meet with the scholarship program director to go over the expectations of the program as well as meet other scholars in your class.  *Please note that the orientation is a requirement for your scholars program. 
    • If you are a Service Scholar, please plan on attending Great Beginnings on June 16, June 18, or June 24. 
    • If you are a First Generation Scholar, please plan on attending on June 17, June 23 or June 25.

    Athletic Compliance Information Meeting - Student athletes will be attending this mandatory session after your Fisher 101 session.

    Financial Aid -  After the Fisher 101 session, there will be an opportunity to meet with a representative from the Student Financial Services Department. They can answer any questions you have regarding your financial aid offer, loans or billing. Please note that there will be a presentation from Student Financial Services during the day that goes over the next steps for financial aid and billing.
